The most beautiful sunrises in Bali

The island of Bali is known for stunning sunsets, but its sunrises are just as magical and exciting. Rising above the horizon, the sun awakens the Balinese nature, illuminates the mountains, beaches, ocean, and fully manifests their beauty. In order to see this moment, people go to the best parts of the island to meet the dawn. Let's take a look at when the sun rises on the island and where it’s better to watch.

What time is the dawn in Bali?

The sun rises in Bali daily around 6 am Due to the proximity of the island to the equator, this time is practically unchanged throughout the year. But given the seasons, you can see that in the spring and summer dawn comes a little later (at 6: 20-6: 35) than in autumn and winter (5: 50-6: 20).

Below I have presented a list of 7 places on the island where you can catch the most beautiful sunrises.

Top of the volcano Batur

Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano that attracts travelers with its beauty and the possibility of adventure tours to Bali. This is one of the sacred mountains in Hinduism, located in the village of Batur, Bangli province, Kintamani district, at an altitude of 1717 meters above sea level.

People climb the volcano Batur about 2 hours, starting the hike at 3 o'clock in the morning, to catch the sun rise and enjoy the unforgettable sunrise from the summit of the volcano. When climbing to the summit under the first sunshine, you can see the shadow of three nearby mountains - Abang, Agung, Rinjani on the island of Lombok. Together with other mountain ranges, Lake Batur, the crater, they offer a picturesque panoramic view.

The entrance to the volcano costs 350,000 rupees with guide services. The best time to watch the sunrise is 5: 45-6: 30.

Oolong Danu Temple

Ulun Danu Beratan (Pura Ulun Danu Beratan) is a Hindu temple located on Lake Beratan in the highland region of Bedugul. The name of the sanctuary is translated as “the temple on Beratan Lake” and is related to the fact that it looks like a floating temple when the waters rise.

The majestic architecture of the temple, combined with fascinating mountain scenery, clean fresh air is the perfect place to watch the sunrise. Sometimes the morning mist rising above the lake reduces visibility, but over time it dissipates. Meet the sunrises here is better in the dry season (summer), when the sky is clear.

The Oolong Danu Temple is a place with a quiet and calm atmosphere, where you can see the most picturesque sunrise in Bali, when the sun slowly rises over the mountains and casts its glare on the smooth surface of the lake.

Rice terraces Tegallalang

Tegallalang rice terraces are multi-level rice fields in the village of Tegalalang of Ginyar province in northern Ubud. The terraces are located in the highlands, some - at an altitude of more than 600 m above sea level. The valley offers scenic views of rice fields and a lush bright green landscape. This is one of the main attractions of Ubud, the best place for morning walks along the jungle paths.

Earlier morning (from 5:30) is the best time to visit Tegallalang rice terraces, while there is no heat in the daytime, large crowds of people. At this time, you can see the sunrise over the terraces and its reflection in the pools, which will leave an unforgettable impression.

Tegallalang rice terraces are open around the clock. Admission is 15,000 IDR (about $ 1). Parking is 5,000 IDR. There are famous Balinese swings in the valley (cost of 3-5 minutes skiing - 100 000 IDR).

Artists trail

Artists' path to Bali (Campuhan Ridge Walk) is an asphalt road with a total length of 9 km, running along the Kampuhan mountain range through the lush valley of the Sungai Vos river. It is located in the province of Janjar, near Ubud, and is a popular place to watch the dawn.

People often go here at dawn to retire to nature and see the first rays of the rising sun. On a clear morning, when the sun is brightly illuminating the countryside, from the top of the hill there is a view of Mount Agung and village houses surrounded by rice fields. The trail leads to the small village of Bangkyang Sidem with cozy cafes, where you can relax overlooking the sky.

Keramas beach

Keramas Beach is a black sandy beach located in the village of Keramas. It extends 1.8 km along the southeastern coastline of the Gignard area.

This beach is considered a paradise for surfers, especially during the rainy season, when the west wind creates strong surf suitable for surfing. The place also amazes with beautiful sunrises: the fiery sky, black volcanic sand, big waves and professional surfers make an impeccable picture of the beginning of the day.

Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach is a 5-kilometer sandy beach located in Sanur in the east of the island. It is a quiet place to watch the sun rise over the ocean, where in the morning twilight one can see traditional Balinese boats and wooden structures for meditation.

Along the coast stretches the pavement for walking, morning runs, cycling. Morning water sports are held on the beach:

    - kitesurfing;
    - windsurfing;
    - wakeboarding;
    - rowing;
    - canoe.

      The surf here is small, but during the northwest winds (October-March) there are waves. Surfboards can be rented for 100,000 IDR.

      Lovina Beach

      Lovina Beach is located 5 km from Singaraja city, in the north-west side of Bali. This is a 2 km long coastline with black volcanic sand and calm sea.

      The main feature of the beach is the possibility of observing dolphins at dawn, which is symbolized by the dolphin statue on the beach. Animals appear early in the morning with the first rays of the sun at a distance of about 1 km from the coast. People swim there in fishing boats to watch dolphins jumping out of the water. Such sea excursions usually last about 2 hours and cost from 70,000 to 300,000 IDR ($ 5-20).

      The beach also provides scuba diving services, including diving, snorkeling, which can be enjoyed after a dawn meeting. Near the beach there is parking, many cafes and restaurants with seafood.

      Sunrises in Bali are unique. Locals and travelers meet them in different places to observe how the smooth waves of the ocean reflect the rising sun, and the mountains, beaches and temples are illuminated with the first morning rays. Start your day on the island from this amazing moment.

      10 reasons to go to Australia

      It seems that Australia is equally far away from any part of the world. And the more surprising is the fact that this country is considered one of the most popular destinations among budget travelers. It does not always mean expensive, so we found 10 reasons why you should visit Australia.

      Great Barrier Reef

      Australia has one of the world's most famous reef systems, in which most of the famous marine animals live. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the best diving spots on the planet. Here you can see various turtles, the most exotic sharks, small bright fish and, of course, the incredible beauty of corals. Someone spends just a day here, and someone will be a little week, so be guided by their feelings. Traditionally, travelers travel to the Reef from the city of Cairns, but you will see much more interesting if you leave Port Douglas.

      Sydney

      In addition to the world-famous opera, Sydney has an amazing harbor, lots of huge bridges, cozy parks, amazing surfing and amazingly tasty food. It doesn't matter if you go to Manly Beach or stay in Bondi, you will get great pleasure anyway. In the harbor of Darling you will find many quality restaurants and a lot of entertainment for every taste. And in search of leisure at night it is better to look into the King Cross area.

      Uluru

      Uluru is a giant round stone. And if it seems to you that a thing with such a description cannot be interesting, you are mistaken. The surface resembles a wave shape, but differs in a reddish-orange color due to the increased iron content. This unusual shape was formed over thousands of years because of the wind. Many residents refer to this place as sacred, so when visiting, remain polite and correct.

      Tour to Uluru is best to take from the nearby city of Alice Springs.

      B-B-Q

      Australians know a lot about things, and barbecue is one of those that you should definitely try in Australia. Meat, or rather the process itself, is taken very seriously, even has its own traditions, and specially designated places for roasting meat (they can be found in almost every park). Just imagine: a warm summer night, a few glasses of beer or wine and excellent meat ... Do I need anything else to fall in love with this country?

      Wine

      In Australia, there are several regions that are famous for their vineyards - this is the valley of the river Margaret (near Perth), the valley of Barossa (near Adelaide) and the valley of Hunter (near Sydney). And this is not all wine worth trying in Australia. Look especially at shiraz and pinot noir varieties. You can book a tour of the vineyards in a separate tour, you can go to a good wine boutique and order a tasting for yourself, and after that you can drink a bottle you like in one of the city parks.

      Western Australia

      This is one of the most unpopular tourist regions of the country, which is surprising. It seems that the place has been deprived of attention completely undeservedly: there is beautiful nature and excellent beaches (without a single soul in the area). If you like the Great Barrier Reef, also take a trip to Coral Bay and the Ningalo Reef.

      Perth

      Sydney and Melbourne usually get all the attention of visitors, but Perth deserves it no less. There are gorgeous beaches, huge parks, good surfing waves and the best beer in Australia - Little Creatures.

      In Perth, most of the population is young, so the atmosphere in the city is very lively. The biggest and most fun parties usually take place on Sundays at the Cottesloe.

      Surfing

      Although surfing was not invented in Australia, it is difficult to imagine another place where this sport would also be considered part of the culture. The best surfing spots are on the east coast. Among the most popular are Noosa, Bondi Beach and Waves in Queensland.

      Beaches

      In a country where the beaches occupy 50,000 km, it is difficult not to admire them. Usually, the east coast is more loaded than the west coast, but with such a coastline, you will not be left without personal space. If you still highlight the best beaches, then among them there will definitely be Coral Bay, Cable Beach, Noosa, Manly and almost everything that is near Perth.

      Chic Jungle

      Queensland is one of the oldest tropical forests in the world. Here are great trails for trekking and hiking, here lives a lot of birds and other animals. There are even crocodiles. Plus, in this part of the country there are many crystal clear rivers where you can swim on a hot day. But if you want to be alone with nature, then go to Cape Tribulation: there will be nothing except you, the jungle and the ocean.
